Standby for words from the Chief.

Submarines, the Soviet Cruisers event, free enhanced consumables, Ranked Battles, and other improvements.

IMPORTANT ! Because the Update is still being tested, the information in this Bulletin is tentative and reflects the state of game development at the time of its publication. Some changes and new features may be removed entirely or implemented differently by the time the Update goes live. Screenshots, specific values of certain characteristics, and details of in-game mechanics will not necessarily be relevant after the Update is released.

Submarines

Update 0.9.4 will add submarines to the game client in a separate battle type for Tier VI ships. During the Public Test, everyone can participate in the testing of the new ship type!

Fragile and stealthy hunters, capable of traveling not only horizontally, but also diving into the depths. The diving depth of a submarine affects her detectability, viewing range, and interaction with other submarines and ship types.

The main armament carried by submarines is torpedoes with acoustic guidance. You can launch an attack from any depth, while the sonar ping mechanics will help increase the potential effectiveness of your torpedo salvos. Keep an eye on your battery power and use sonar pings wisely. Torpedoes can ascend from the depths and hit an enemy only with the help of an active effect from a sonar ping. If you run out of battery power, reduce your speed to 1/4 or ascend to the surface level to restore it.

Keep an eye on enemy destroyers and cruisers. All destroyers, as well as cruisers Dallas, Budyonny, Leander, and Perth carry depth charges, which can hit submarines hiding underwater.

You can find more details about playing submarines, and playing against them, in the "Submarines: How Best to Play Them" article.

Soviet cruisers

Update 0.9.4 sees the launch of an event dedicated to the Soviet heavy cruisers. The new ships will be available in Early Access on the live server only after the release of the Update. In the meantime, you can take part in the testing of the event.

Please note: the rewards for activities on the Public Test server may differ from those on the live server. The Soviet heavy cruisers themselves won't be available on the Public Test Server.

Rewards from Daily Shipments and for completing Directives: event containers with a new temporary resource — Soviet Tokens.

The reward for completing all Directives: the Soviet permanent camouflage for cruiser Mikoyan.

Items available in the Armory in exchange for Tokens: credits, expendable camouflages, signals, and days of Premium Account.

Bundles providing Early Access to Soviet cruisers are available in the Armory in exchange for Tokens. There are six bundles that are opened in sequential order. You'll find cruiser Mikoyan in the first bundle; the next bundles will contain Tallinn and Riga, as well as the Soviet camouflage for cruisers Tallinn, Riga, and Petropavlovsk.

The Black Sea Port has been updated and renamed Novorossiysk. This Port will be available in its familiar design from ModStation.

Enhanced consumables

With the release of Update 0.9.4, enhanced consumables will become free, while standard consumables will be removed. Consequently, all consumables will be of one variant having the parameters of enhanced consumables.

Enhanced consumables mounted on ships and kept in the Inventory will automatically be exchanged for credits. More Consumables containers will no longer be obtainable, and any such containers that you already have on your account will be automatically exchanged for 160,000 credits each. For other rewards, enhanced consumables will be replaced with signals.

Ranked battles

Update 0.9.4 will give start to a new season of Ranked Battles. You can expect to play Tier VII ships in a 7 vs. 7 format.

Other Changes and Improvements

Updated national voiceovers for Polish, Dutch, and Austro-Hungarian ships. The presence of any unique Commander voiceovers is now taken into account when the "National +" voiceover is selected.

Updated the design of the Modules tab. Under this tab, you can now view all upgrades and consumables for the ships that you haven't obtained yet, while ships are researched and obtained via the Tech Tree screen.

The Northern Lights, Shatter, Sleeping Giant, Loop, Greece, and Crash Zone Alpha maps have been reworked to accommodate the new lighting model and enhanced HDR technology.

Updated the location of islands on the Loop map, which will make approaching Key Areas and maneuvering within them easier.

Please note: due to the specifics of the Public Test Server, the matchmaker might work differently.

For all those pesky bugs:

That is all.
