[2021] Co-Op Update!

Good Morning, Captains!

I come bearing good news. I’ve received word that your common concerns in Co-op games have been heard! While I cannot tell you the specific details as of yet, I can confirm that the issues you’ve raised regarding coop matches ending too quickly as a result of bots unable to defend themselves properly has been acknowledged and will be adjusted in an upcoming patch to address these issues.

While I’m excited to report these changes to you, I must ask you to be patient for these changes to be implemented.

So you guys should be aware by now that I don’t play PvE. That’s just my choice because I enjoy playing against other humans.

What I haven’t heard yet is exactly what a “balanced PvE experience” is like in your opinions.

Rather than “Don’t do X again, that sucked” or “More like Y this time because I liked that” - what exactly do you feel is the right way a Coop experience should be?

Bots in any game will never ever outmatch humans unless they cheat (chess geeks sit down). Since I can safely assume you don’t want cheating bots, and you don’t want 4-minute matches with low XP, and you don’t want 10 minute matches where bots kite and live longer….

What’s the “Magic Torpedo” for PvE players?

I said chess geeks because I meant chess geeks.

As I understand it, and I could be wrong, Chess is one where the best bots can still never beat the best humans.

It was a playful attempt to acknowledge chess and how deep it’s gone into AI opponents.

Yeah… we got home to TX from Prague after KOTS internationals and fell asleep at 8pm to to the time difference. Now I’m up!

Again, my main stress is patience as these sorts of things do take down time to prepare. Please don’t expect it to happen before the next patch at the earliest.
