With round 2 of Submarine testing beginning, we'd firstly like remind you that: Submarines are currently in Beta testing and everything you will see is preliminary and subject to change.

Following on from the first round of testing several changes have been made to the way submarines operate in World of Warships, these changes are detailed in the Dev Blog post:

Key changes include:

Reworked interaction between destroyers and submarines;

Manual depth charges;

Maximum Depth: a new consumable for submarines;

Rebalanced submarine torpedoes!

Participating:

While we know you are all interested in being involved with testing the new class, we want to ensure that the test server is loaded evenly. To achieve that, we're going to distribute the first batch of invitations among a random slice of players. New invitations will be sent out during the test so as to make the Beta Test accessible to all players who wish to participate.

Don’t worry If you don't find yourself in the first wave of Beta Test participants. As the test goes on, we'll be sending out more and more invitations so that every player who wishes to can eventually join the Beta Test!

Bugs, issues and feedback:

Therefore, we firstly ask you to remain patient, and secondly, provide feedback in this feedback thread, or the survey that will come at end of testing.

When providing feedback, please try to be as thorough as possible, we recommend the following:

Identify what your concern is

Identify what specifically has caused your concern

Identify what you think could fix the concern

Identify whether you are actively participating in the test, or if your opinion is formed from viewing gameplay.

As part of the beta test, we will work with you to improve the gameplay of submarines, make improvements or changes and prepare for the next stages of testing.

Whats next:

After the Beta test, which will take place over several iterations, the submarines will be added to the game client as part of a separate game mode (as, for example, it was with the Arms Race, Rogue Wave or Space Battles). This will allow us to test under main server conditions, with a larger number of participants as we make the finishing touches and adjust the balancing of the new class.
Only after all these steps have been taken will we decide on the fate of submarines.

We want to be sure that: the gameplay of submarines will appeal to the majority and they fit well into the game and do not create technical problems.

The Submarine test server (TST) is invite only and requires special accounts to be used.

The server is also only only certain hours of the days and certain days.

I'd love to help you if you could provide me more details in a PM as to what you are having issues with.

Heya team,

Let me follow up on some of the recent questions:

Submarine round 2 testing has concluded at this time. The server will be offline until (if we need it) round 3 testing occurs.

Yes, if you received an account in Round 1 or 2 testing, they will be able to be used in all subsequent tests.

That is simply not true. The "selection process" does not take any player characteristics into account - stats, spending, time in game, etc. It does not matter.

Everyone who applied is put into one big bucket, then when its time to hand out more accounts, names are randomly selected and emails sent out. So far, I believe over 30k emails have gone out to players inviting them to participate. Since it is random, we cannot and will not be handing accounts out individually to players beyond those involved in community programs who have earned that privilege.

This is the fairest way to distribute accounts to the majority of the playerbase, and we are hopeful to have all players involved by the time testing is completed.
