A: we DO care about AFKs if a player IS AFK, so this is not true, however, some players may not be AFK, they may not have even connected, which is easy to see, if at the beginning of a match the players guns have not moved they probably crashed, if a player moves and then goes AFK you can put a CS ticket in with replay.
B: There is NO need to purchase anything for ranked, so not sure why you think that would have any bearing on ranked.
All that being said, if you're having a hard time in ranked, take a break and come back later, there is no requirement to even play ranked.
