Aloha,

Firstly, welcome to World of Warships and I commend you for doing research! That is after all, one of the first keys to success in this game.

Secondly, may I remind our community about the forum rules. Some of you need to re-read them.

Thirdly, and I mean no offense by any of this but, you only have 83 battles in Random game mode. Which means that more than likely a lot of the early game access items have not been opened up to you as of yet.

Keep grinding forward.

Pick one line and grind ONLY it until you think you have a really good understanding of the mechanics and game play

Take advice from people with a grain of salt

CVs at the lower tiers are more a pest, but IMO its good (though I know it is annoying) to get primaried with the tick damage as often as you might in lower tier battles

That being said, think of things in this aspect, it is teaching you how and when to use your DC, how and when to use your RP etc. This is important ESPECIALLY at the later tiers as your micromanagement of your HP is MUCH more important depending on fire and flood damage

And it teaches you to keep maneuvering, when to sector your AA etc

Some players don't learn this, EVER.....

Most people will not recognize it, but we are still adjusting and balancing CVs (almost every single update for the last 6 months has had adjustments to them) and we are still doing more

Division up with other players, try NOT to play solo, you will learn FAR more and your experience will be FAR BETTER. If you want to division up, PM me sometime in game, I will gladly division up with players, assuming I am not already in a division.

Contrary to what some say, signals, capt builds and upgrades make a HUGE difference in surviving a battle (for those of you that are naysayers, try running your ships without them for a couple battles and see the difference, assuming you run WITH them regularly)

That being said, at the lower tiers, don't use them, hoard them for tier VI and up

Feel free to look at the patch notes over the past 6 months.

And how does us doing balance adjustments over the course of time show failure?

So by your metric EVERY ship in this game is a failure? Because we adjust ships all the time, even ones that have been around for years.

This is NOTHING new in the gaming industry, new mechanics and metrics drive balance changes.

So because those specific ships weren't adjusted this is your argument?

Hindenberg, Henry IV, Jutland, Daring, Chung Mu, Yueyang ALL have been adjusted in the last 6 months.

Again, feel free to go back and read the patch notes.

But I digress.

I do agree with you, but we have also changed the MM settings to lower the CV numbers at the lower tiers.

It's not perfect, I am not trying to say that at all. The problem you run into is the amount of CVs in Queue is pretty high, and to keep them from sitting in queue till they override the MM rules at least 2 is needed.

I agree that 1 CV per team is more ideal of course, but in some cases cannot be helped

As for the length of time between tiers that is a direct result of removal of the odd tier CVs, you're essentially moving 2 tiers so the price had to go up.

We have more changes coming in the future which should help balance all this more though.

At the end of the day @Endealon keep reading through these forums, watching content and pressing forward. There is some really good advice in here. But try to steer clear of some of the ranting either on here or in videos etc, as those people don't always provide the best constructive information.

Well and that's the thing, game development and balance takes time, in some cases it takes months to gather data to make changes and some think, because we don't do things in the time frame they like, then we obviously don't do it. +1

Well because I like my job, when stuff is under NDA, I LITERALLY cannot.

But on the front of CVs in terms of balancing, their spotting has been adjusted 5 times in the last 6 months, there have been 2 different MM changes directly effecting CVs in the last 6 months and the Hakuryu specifically has had 2 adjustments or "nerfs."

We are always looking at the data and slowly changing things as we see is necessary. As for development time frames I would LOVE to give you that, but contrary what some believe we have a fairly small development team and everything we do takes significant assets, and time. So if something comes up and we need to focus on that we can't give a time frame because something may be delayed etc.

Also, @Endealon sorry for semi-derailing your thread!

Totally understand and totally get where you're coming from.

The reason we have HAD to change things on how we release information is people would take those PROPOSED ideas as gospel, make opinions 100% and often ruin the feedback process as a result. So we HAD to pull back the reins some and start controlling more what is released when.
