[2019] Ways of Distribution: Smolensk, Somers and Friesland

Dear players!

We are aware of your interest in the way that ships announced in the Development Blog will be distributed.

Today, we are ready to inform you of the ways of distribution of the following ships:

Soviet tier X cruiser Smolensk will be available for coal.


American tier X destroyer Somers will be available for steel.


European tier IX destroyer Friesland will be available for free XP.

The release dates for these ships will be published later in the respective news channels on the game website.

Information about the ways of distribution of other ships announced in the Developer's blog will be published later.

Thanks for the feedback on the currencies that these ships will be released in the future. There has been a few comments in this thread that there is a certain "wall" that ships are being locked behind.

Let us begin with Steel: Steel is obtainable in Ranked and you can get quite a bit for ranking out each season. This is an option available for most players that are determined and want to take on the challenge of ranking out. There was also a Snowflakes event last winter that gave both steel and coal depending on the tier. There was also the purchasable "Steel Monsters" campaign that gave a good chunk of steel. There is also the obvious in Clan Battles that gives steel and remains the main way to get steel. Yes, steel is more rare than coal but there are quite a few different ways to get steel. You can also include the rewards from King of Sea for certain teams that place high enough. Also don't forget that if you get the lucky SC you can also get steel!

Coal: This is obtainable every day from playing the game and getting the "resources" box which is guaranteed at least (400) coal a container. There are plenty of ways in game to earn coal and there are quite a few ships in game now available for coal. The upcoming French event will have coal available from knocking of "Symbols of France" tokens.

Free XP: Equipping the economic signal flags and do well in game will rack up large amounts of free xp from just playing the game. Of course you can also convert xp to free xp using doubloons.

We understand that some of the ships that are being announced for certain currencies might take a bit to get but that is why we are announcing the currencies now so you can begin saving up =).
