As the opening move towards changing Unique Upgrades as we promised, we'll update the way in which they are obtained. With the release of Update 0.9.2, Unique Upgrades will appear in the Armory's Research Bureau. The combat missions and challenges to get Unique Upgrades will change, too.

Combat missions to get Unique Upgrades can be obtained until the release date of Update 0.9.1 (February 12-13, 2020)

Any missions already obtained will expire on the release date of Update 0.9.2 (March 11-12, 2020)

We’re going to revamp the existing upgrades and add new ones in future. Stay tuned for more news!

Aloha,

Understand that the purpose of this post is to inform our community of changes coming in the future, the exact details cannot be released until they go into the public test, as many of the features are still being worked on. It is standard for us to release to you dates of possible changes ahead of time. As was the case with Missouri, it was announced that she was going to be removed and replaced with Musashi over a month in advance.

Furthermore, understand there are Tier X ships currently that do not have a Unique Upgrade and some of the Unique Upgrades that exist need to be reworked due to meta changes to those ships specifically, in the game over the course of the year and half they since they have been released.

In reference to your post, you are taking what I said out of context as this was to answer someones question about the expiration dates being 12/31 on the actual missions. For long running missions due to the fact the system requires an end date we have had to place a date and then move it out. For the Unique Upgrade missions this has happened several times during the course of their existence and is not related at all with this developer release.

When more information becomes available, we will release it to you!

Aloha,

You will not lose the modules you currently have earned.

Progress on specific SSE won't be saved in a sense that you won't be able to complete them - they will be deprecated. But some sort of compensation for achieved progress will be there, (especially if you were really close to receiving one), the exact volume/procedure is still being discussed, and we will share the details as soon as they are finalized.

Aloha,

Congrats on your current progress!

As stated above the currently earned UU's will NOT be removed from your inventory.

Aloha,

Hey folks, so I am reading a lot of replies that are just speculation and conjecture so I am going to address some of the information that I can right now.

1: The UU missions you currently have and you receive until Feb 12th will have a hard expiration of Dec 31, 2020. Any missions that are not complete by then you will receive some sort of compensation for. No I do not know what that is, YET but I will let you know as soon as we can.

2: Any UU's you currently have, will remain, WE WILL NOT remove UU's you have earned. That being said, some changes to them may occur as some of the UU's need balancing, etc.

3:The UU's ARE NOT the upgrades, nor will they be the upgrades, that originally were discussed during the announced then thrown out NTC. UU's are designed to change a way a ship may be employed or played. For example: Republique's UU, decreasing her main battery reload time to 19 secs (positive impact) but reducing her main battery gun range to 19kms (negative impact) and removing the ability to use any of the slot 6 upgrades (negative impact). The NTC's upgrades were going to be nothing but positive upgrades to ships which when announced I totally agreed with the community would have NOT been good.

4: Additional UU's are coming out for the ships that do not have them currently. Stay tuned for details.

Please if at all possible be careful not to make speculative comments on changes coming in the future when things have not been elaborated on. Before I was a WG employee I was on these forums every day, surfing them and not making speculative comments and if someone that is as vocal (a loud mouth) as I am can do it I know y'all can as well.

I'm not perfect, no one is, but I assure you as soon as I can give y'all more information I definitely will!

Mahalo, Happy Holidays,

Aloha,

At this time we have not released how they will actually be obtained beyond the fact that they will be involved with the RB. So any discussion currently on the forums is all speculation, cost, etc. As soon as we have the information and can release it to everyone we will!
