Announcing the 2020 Turkey Shoot Bounty event!

How would you like a chance to help us challenge the community to try to sink you to earn some treats?

It’s Turkey season and Turkeys are running wild!

We are looking for 300 volunteers from the community (YOU) to help!

From Nov 27th-Nov29th Turkeys will be entering battles, announcing their presence with "It's Turkey Season! Sink me for a prize (TK DO NOT COUNT, REWARDS CAN ONLY BE RECEIVED ONCE PER BATTLE)" sink them in battle and you can receive the below rewards!

5 x of Fall Cornucopia Camo

10x of the following signal flags:

2x Papa Papa


2x Zulu Hotel


2x Zulu


2x Equal Speed Charlie London


2x India Bravo Terrathree

1 x The Community Turkey Shoot Flag

Kills will be automatically logged and rewards distributed at the end of each game.

These volunteer turkeys will be sailing around in the specified tiers during the below times!

RULES FOR TURKEYS (PLEASE NOTE THE RULES IN BOLD ARE NEW):

It's simple, respond to this topic with "I would like to be a Turkey" and we will look at your accounts and check your activity and add you or not add you accordingly! Just come back on the 23rd and check the list below and you will see if you were selected or not!

Players that are selected to be Turkeys will be PM'd on the 24th with an invite code to the event discord. You must join that Discord by 1600 CST on the 27th.

Upon entering the Discord Channel you must do some things.

Accept the Bounty Event Rules (react to the post)


Go to #the-turkey-pen and post your IGN


Change your nickname on that Discord server to your IGN

At this time your account credentials will be PM'd to you.

The list of active/selected Turkeys will be posted below some time on the evening of the 23rd:

What do the volunteers win?

Base Prize: Play a Minimum of 10 Games and receive: 3 days premium and Event Flag.

Major Participant Prize: Based off an overall average of games played by Participants:

25 Average Battles Of Turkeys: 10x Fall Cornucopia Camo, 3x Type 59

35 Average Battles Of Turkeys: 10x Fall Cornucopia Camo, 2x Free USBB Collection free Lootboxes and Previous Tier Rewards


45 Average Battles Of Turkeys: 10 x Fall Cornucopia Camo, 1x Free Black Friday and Previous Tier Rewards

It has ALWAYS been this way, always. I added it so publicly it is in the rules.

Trust me, I'm taking note ;)

Considering this event was built so that volunteers from the community can contribute to the community and the only way to get rewards is to sink a player that is a volunteer, I do not see how PvE would work.

I cannot apply this reward to bot accounts... And TBH, EVERYTHING in this event is done manually (3 people literally build the volunteer accounts, accounts for all the kills, does a data pull on avg battles, builds the discord, runs the discord, coordinates all 300 volunteers, builds all the articles, applies for the rewards, advocates for those rewards and the events, advertises the events, etc etc) there is SO MUCH work that goes into these events.

So I am not sure what you'd do differently to include PvE.

We play tiers V-X and there are set times, when tier V and VII are live there are A LOT of pumpkins at that tier, and I KNOW that the PVE crowd could play a tier V if y'all want the rewards.

If you were not selected for prior events definitely feel free to apply for the new ones :) We had almost 1800 people apply for the last one, and I randomly selected 300.

So you know how easy it is to create the bot accounts? Are you aware of the difference in work that is required between an account that a player uses and the bot? If I created a bot account, do you know inundated COOP would be with people going in to just farm them would be?

These events are not meant to just "give away" free stuff, which essentially I am hearing from you is how you see it, it is to get the COMMUNITY involved with giving back to the community. To challenge the community. So that being said how would creating a "bot turkey" accomplish the goal of having VOLUNTEERS that are giving back to the community?

If it was "extremely easy to do so by making a bot a turkey" and we just wanted to give away free stuff, why would I do these events al together?

I'm sorry, but you have missed the mark here.

Also, as stated before: 3 people literally build the volunteer accounts, accounts for all the kills, does a data pull on avg battles, builds the discord, runs the discord, coordinates all 300 volunteers, builds all the articles, applies for the rewards, advocates for those rewards and the events, advertises the events, etc etc) EVERYTHING for this event is done manually because it is an event that the NA team created, drives, advertises and executes. NOTHING of what we do is done from outside our small team.

There have been A LOT of changes over the past year towards the PvE community, A LOT of developer time, more so than has been in the past, considering the focus of their efforts is more towards the PvP content usually, your statements are far off.
