We are working on this actually, I mentioned this awhile back because of the same reason, sometimes people literally have to cover up digits to count on their screen... but because some places use periods and some commas, what is probably going to happen is spaces so like 3 000 000 to show 3million.

Sorry it has taken some time for this to be done.

This is how it has always worked. The spotter doesn't increase your vision, if you're outside a ships detection range, then they will go dark. The purpose of your spotter is to be a spotter for artillery, in other words, it increases your gun range and aid with your leading by changing the firing angle at range.
