What does the Monolith do ?

2. what's it's function

3. What is its reason to exist

4. why is it there ?

i finally got myself the Premium and got interested into the Monolith thing. i was observing the Monolith for around 10 minutes and it did nothing. i searched the whole world to see if the Monolith affected the world in any way but didn't see nothing so i would be happy/interested if anyone answered the 4 questions.
