Planet of The Apes Race?

Who else thinks it would be incredibly intriguing to have an Ape race, where they either start of smart or they slowly evolve into becoming an advanced race like the others. I think if they went that route, you would have to spawn in apes as an animal, and they would slowly conquer the world. I think it would be cool seeing certain races work with the apes aswell.
