I’m not sure if many people have already suggested this because I usually don’t follow social media of games, but it would be nice for a more complex military strategy and operations, like defending the front, formations, strategies like for example blitzkrieg, maybe you can even add the ability to fortify the front, spies, assassination attempts. This game has so much potential!

I think this is where players and the devs diverge. Maxim has stated that they don’t really want to make WorldBox into a civ simulator, despite the fact that it’s what I’d argue a majority of players play the game for. Cool power only go so far, we love creating civilizations seeing them grow, and then unleashing untold apocalypses on them.

Hm, I don't think I ever stated that.

I did mention that I don't plan to turn it into game like age of empires, where you control one civilization. Firstly because it won't be good AoE. And secondly - that's not what the game is about. Maybe that's what you meant?

Most of the difficult work on the game and programming is about civilization logic, optimisation for them, etc. And that's what I personally love working on most of the time.

"Cool powers" are pretty simple compared to it.

I just want to play a game similar to Hoi4 but having control over everything, I don’t get why the developers want to be stuck in the medieval era, it doesn’t have to be futuristic or present day, atleast until industrial era were factories, zeppelins and actually functional battleships

We "don't want to be stuck" in it either. I would love to play the game you describing very much too haha

That's just the reality of the scope and the game development. It's easy to want stuff, hard to implement.

How can I promise anything related to industrial era - if we still have a lot of work to do on fantasy/fundamental simulation? It's only bare bones.

Me too, I want an Industrial Revolution and religion update, but it looks like instead of adding depth to the game we’re getting 8 new basic biomes that no one will really use and will be annoying for anyone generating a new world that they want to be normal. I’d rather they add biome specific building styles and maybe aliens as a full race rather than adding new biomes.

Biomes are just tip of the iceberg. Wait for more sneak peeks I guess
