Hey, guys!

It has been pointed out that it's not good reddiquette for game developers to moderate the Reddit of their own game. This Reddit is currently owned by official moderators (not employed by Bossa, but hand-picked by them), but we agree that it should really be community-ran, and as such we are looking for a few good members to hand over to.

If you would be interested in taking over moderation of this subreddit, drop me a PM and tell me why you think you'd be a good choice. How long you've been active in the community would be a plus too.

Once we've selected a few moderators Bossa staff will be removed as moderators. We (the current moderators) will co-moderate alongside the new mods for a few weeks until we're comfortable they have the games best interest at heart and they know what they're doing. From that point, we will officially hand over to them to run the subreddit - whether they keep us as moderators too is totally up to them. We want this to be in the hands of the people after all!

I look forward to hearing from you :)

EDIT: Our new moderators have now been chosen! Please congratulate theopenbox and tenaciousleee on being the new moderators for the subreddit!

I'm afraid there were just too many applications for me to reply to everyone individually, but we appreciate the huge response we got. Trust in that all five active Worlds Adrift moderators read every application we got and it was a tough decision, but we're confident our choices will serve the community well.

EDIT 2: For unknown reasons, immedietly after gratefully accepting the position tenaciousleee deleted his Reddit account. As such we've moved down the list and picked next in line Sethodine as the second initial mod. Congratulations Sethodine!

I would, but I started this very move of yours with my post, so me becoming a mod would look very much like a power grab on my part.

Sooo, not sure. Consider me the last possible option I guess.

edit: Thinking about it a bit more, yea, not gonna even consider it. Would only start a shitshow.

Honestly, I was initially sceptical, I figured you would have submitted an application once I posted that we are accepting them - but the fact you decided to back off for the very thing that made me sceptical suggests you know what a community wants from its leadership.

As such, feel free to submit an application if you so wish and it will be considered amongst the rest :)

Maybe we should also moderate the Worlds Adrift forum ? :-P http://imgur.com/a/rCkIo

on topic: If you can find the right people this will be good but dont rush it. Always risky recruiting people online. Personally i would probably keep some admin powers just in case.

The lovely Korean spam is an ongoing issue we're battling at the moment. It comes in waves and today was an especially big one, and I was at work so couldn't handle it, and I believe most other mods were busy too. One of the CS staff swung the hammer and resolved it pretty quickly once I passed it on though (as a result of your post here, so thanks for that :P)

That being said, the official forum is Bossa's call and they pick the mods for that not us, so this offer is only for Reddit I'm afraid ;)
