[2020] Do horns scare mantas?

I have almost 100 hours in this game and I still have no idea if the horns can be used to scare off mantas or not. I thought at first they attracted them, but I've seen people say that it works. I know they dislike sound, hence why they attack engines, so I could see it going both ways.
