So your lappy can run cheap 2D games that only simulate 3D well, but can't run a CPU-heavy fully 3D game with structural integrity calculations very well at all.
Yeah, that sounds about right. Perfectly normal even. Especially if you have a budget laptop with low-end specs. I mean hell, I can get 50 FPS in Ark on an old Core 2 Quad Q6600 with 8GB DDR2 RAM and a 660Ti. The same rig would get 60FPS in several modern games. If I replace the 660 with a 1060 even Ark gets 60FPS. It would struggle to maintain 60 FPS in this title, but I have done it recently.
If you bother to give some more exact specs, I can give you some pointers on getting more out of the game. Just did this recently for this guy.
