[2021] Game crash = reset?

The save files are relatively massive compared to most other games, Clocking in at 150-200mb for a brand new save, and climbing from there to in excess of 1gb+ for a very long term save. There currently is no backup system because there's not a good way to backup such a large save file without impacting the players gameplay by freezing the game up for seconds or more at a time each time it backs up.

If you want backups for safety, then as it is currently, you must manually backup your saves.

i would much rather take a freeze for a few seconds rather than having my entire character deleted from a crash, but maybe that's just me.

I feel ya. And you're not alone. But a lotta other peeps despise their gameplay being interrupted even for a moment.
