Originally posted by Low Roar: New player. Me and my friend chose a house for our base because it had a basement thinking it would be hard for zombies to get in. Fast forward to day 7, 10 zombies broke in our base and killed us. After that i respawned in the same room through my bedroll and the zombies were.. gone? I then looted myself, added the doors back and repaired the walls and kept playing. Is that all there is to horde nights? Just die, respawn, repair and continue? IN that case, instead of wasting ammo on zombies during the night, shouldnt i just wait for them to kill me so i can respawn and they can disappear? and i get to keep my ammo?

Not trying to be toxic by any means! im enjoying the game but that caught me by surprise. We played on a a server we started with default settings and everything on 'adventurer' i think. MAybe its the difficulty.

You can play that way, with a caveat. The Blood Moon horde isn't permanently gone after you die. It becomes unaware of you so long as you stay stealthy the rest of the night. As soon as any zombie senses you again, you'll be right back in the thick of it.

Like FT was saying, you used to get stuck in an endless death loop. It was so bad in fact, that I first joined the forum in order to complain about it. :steamlaughcry: Is this new setup where you want to stay hidden sufficiently punitive, or has the pendulum swung too far the other way now? It's open to debate. But we may yet get a built-in permadeath option, in addition to options already available.
