People have been begging for death to matter for ages, because it was so easy to just top off your food water health and clear all injuries with a quick death.

Actually: There's a new setting at save creation that determines what happens on death; Your options are fresh slate, injured, or permadeath. You apparently set it on Injured, as that is the one that retains some injuries of the prior life on death. Go change that to the other non-permadeath setting.

So it's a dumb feature to give players a choice? Okay, Bet. Set every single setting you've ever changed back to default. Graphical ones, Save related ones, generate a new map with the default settings, All of it. Since choice is so dumb, You don't need the choices you made to select other settings, right? :conwayshrug:

:conwayfacepalm: It's a choice. And the fresh slate you want is one of the options. You can have it the way yoiu want it where you get magically fully healed on death if you want it, and the people who want it to be more punishing have the option of remaining injured, or of permadeath, and that doesn't harm you in any way whatsoever.

not much of a choice if its a setting that is turned on automatically you know exactly as good as i do that most players wont even reasearch anything about it and quit the game if it annoys them enough xD
I sadly can't argue that last bit... The first bit though, the default is the old 'xp only' you're familiar with from A20/A21, where it resets your injuries and health/hunger/thirst. You had to have changed the setting yourself to 'Injured', whether intentionally or accidentally, 'cause the injured setting is not the default. :winter2019happyyul:
