I mean, If you wanna dedicate 250mb-1gb+ per additional save file copy, by all means back them up on your own. But I highly doubt they'll ever enable multiple copies of a given save explicitly because it would take so much space, let alone any additional considerations they might have.

Most games have saves in the 500-1000kb range, or up to maybe 25-50mpb tops for really dense save files in a massive open world exploration RPG.. When saves are smaller in size than a typical smart phone picture it's negligible to have three or four or more copies of it.

However for both you and the Octo, here's a possible fix that could possibly restore the usability of your save:
