I have been playing Valhalla quite some hours, and for some reason today it started acting up. Before I go into the issue I would like to immediately say- yes, it's not the GPU drivers/updates/controller/closing Discord/verifying gamefiles or allocating more memory etc. I have tried that and yet no luck. If all fails I will try and reinstalling the game completely.
So, everytime when I launch the game I have no issues. That is until I press start. You normally start into this "loading" sequence where you can run around as Eivor in some sort of Animus state world. This takes longer than usual to load in. When it does load in I can run around for like 10 seconds before it freezes. It then takes about a minute or two to resume loading. Eventually it will load in the game. But when I see the world- it will freeze again for a good couple of minutes. Now if this event only happened during startup there would be no issue. Sadly this happens really- REALLY frequently in the game itself making it completely unplayable. I don't know how to fix this and I am at a loss. I have played for many hours on and have not updated or anything in the meantime. This just started to happen and I can't get rid of it. I noticed it happens when the loading icon is supposed to appear. When it appears it stops freezing up.
I just tried to play my save-file from a friend's PC who has been playing as well and it does the same thing there. So I can confirm my save-file must have gotten corrupted. Sadly I do not have a save file that's old enough to reset this. So that's pretty [censored]. How in the world does my save file get corrupted?
Now I have also tried to run a new game and that seems to be fine. So over 40 hours of gameplay going to the drain because Ubisoft can't handle save files properly. Pretty sh***y I have to restart completely then.
