After testing the new close camera mode I've found it to be a step in the right direction, however during combat the camera is still too far away. This is a problem in 2 ways:

  1. Reduced readability in combat - the zoom distance makes it difficult for those of us without gigantic expensive monitors to time parries and dodges because we can't see the enemy attack animations. A closer camera would fix this issue.
  2. Reduced immersion - the current zoom distance while fighting outdoors makes me feel like I'm watching the battle, not actively participating in it. I don't know if the camera zoom is set up this way because of lazy animations or as a band-aid solution for some other bug, but if it was designed this way on purpose it definitely seems like a mistake. Some of us want to see the gore, the finisher moves and actually feel like we ARE Eivor (it is a role-playing game after all). At the moment combat looks like drone footage of something I would very much enjoy to actually be doing.

Please give us an adjustable camera distance and allow us to choose whether we want the drone camera during combat toggled. Player agency is important in all games, but especially role-playing games. I know it is more work and ubi already has our money so I guess they can do whatever they want, but please pretend you're all working on it just to turn around in 12 months time and just say flat out "It's working as intended" like what's happened recently with the hooded walk speed bug (which still hasn't actually been fixed btw). Claiming a bug is a feature is lazy, and ultimately tarnishes the experience of your users and will reduce sales/player retention in the long run.

So yes - more camera options please and thanks keep up the mostly great work 🙂

@taliesinward Thank you for your feedback, I have forwarded this on to the Assassin's Creed Valhalla team.

@caosck Thanks for your feedback.

All players have different preferences, don't worry I'm confident that the Assassin's Creed Valhalla team would not make any changes to the current view, if they were to make any changes then they would most likely just add additional options.

@caosck That's correct, every player has their own preferences.
