Hi @Ryder892 I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue with the quest 'Sweetening the Pot'.
There was an issue reported recently where players were unable to collect the deed. This was caused by a known issue with the 'Light-Fingered' skill which we have created a megathread for here.
In order to resolve the issue you would need to load a previous save then go into the skills tab and reset the 'Light-Fingered' skill and try collecting the deed again. However, your issue sounds slightly different as you mention you already collected the deed and it's in your inventory.
If possible try loading an earlier save before you started the quest, reset the skill I mentioned then try again. However, if this is not possible could you please provide a video to demonstrate the issue. We would need to see the following in the video:
