Lately three issues (even more lets be honest i just focus on the one it seems gave more problem to the customers) occurred to the game.
These issues, in my opinion, brought to light how Ubisoft customer support is really below standard compared to other companies.
And, to be clear, I am not just talking about the guys replying (copying and pasting formatted replies to be honest) to us in this forum, but dev/managing/marketing/...
The issue i am talking about are:
- A brewing storm: https://discussions.ubisoft.com/topic/133023/tu-1-4-2-pc-white-screen-when-launching-assassin-s-creed-valhalla-post-here/46?lang=en-US (occuring since launch)
- The forge and the Flame: https://discussions.ubisoft.com/topic/131990/tu-1-4-1-2-unable-to-progress-in-the-forge-and-the-flame-post-here/20?lang=en-US (i am not really informed about this issue, but it seems a regression this one as well)
- Blank screen on startup: https://discussions.ubisoft.com/topic/133023/tu-1-4-2-pc-white-screen-when-launching-assassin-s-creed-valhalla-post-here/42?lang=en-US (open on the third of February)
Let's focus on the ownership of the issue:
- A brewing storm: AC Valhalla source code, Ubisoft ownership
- The forge and the Flame: AC Valhalla source code, Ubisoft ownership
- Blank screen on startup: Nvidia driver issue, Nvidia ownership
And now let's look at the status of the issues:
- A brewing storm: still open, promised fix with no ETA. Open since launch and third attempt to fix the issue
- The forge and the Flame: still open, promised fix with no ETA
- Blank screen on startup: proposed fix in one day by Nvidia with an Hotfix driver (https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/484306/announcing-geforce-hotfix-driver-51172-released-24/)
Nvidia is not know for being the keanu reeves (loved by everyone) of IT companies, but it fixed the problem in one day.
How this compares with ubisoft customer support? Do we really deserve this kind of treatment when we pay games now for up to 100$?
And before this post disappear like many other (yes this is another example of quality customer support) THIS IS NOT A BREWING STORM TOPIC.
