A little story that should serve as feedback.

I bought Assasins Creed Valhalla and downloaded it successfully with a very slow line at some point. Now I tried to start. The launcher it pointed out to me that it MUST be patched. No option to play the unupdated version. Well then I thought, then just three four hours longer. The update was as big as the game itself. After astonishment I researched and unfortunately had to find out that this is actually the case, because, so it was said, the game was completely restructured. Then I asked myself why I had to download the 90 GB outdated game at the beginning. It was only discovered afterwards that a completely new version is available. Very annoying, but I now decided to use the much better line at a friend to survive the evil again. After that I could actually play well for a day. It also ran, no bad bugs or any things that have necessarily required a patch. Today I wanted to play again.Well, but not possible, because it FORCED me to install a new update. No way to start the game anyway and zb. play offline. It was then "only" about 8 GB. Again with my friend I thought that was done quickly, but in the middle of the connection to Ubisoft was completely lost. After a few attempts, a short research confirmed that Ubisoft apparently has problems and currently no connection is possible. Can happen, I thought and waited. When the launcher could connect again, I continued the download. In the meantime the download had increased from 8GB to about 90GB.This means that I am downloading the full size for the third time and I am not even sure if I am allowed to play or if I have to update.

This was my little factual report, which hopefully gives them a hint and saves me the concrete wording about how dissatisfied I am.

PS: can you also think of a way how I can play the game without having to update it. E.g. offline and then wait until night with the DOwnload of the update.

Hi @tetsuo0709 apologies for the late response.

I am also sorry to hear that you experienced issues with the updates for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. I am unsure why the latest update was not installed when you first installed the game, however due to the data restructuring update that was released it's possible that the original updates needed to be installed first before the restructure could happen.

The next update you mentioned will have been update 1.5.0.1.

You could play the game in offline mode yes, however in doing this you will not have access to in-game store, Ubisoft Connect, avenge quests, daily quests, Jomsviking's or photomode as these all require an online connection. All of the scheduled updates are posted on our News & Announcements forum, I would recommend to keep checking there for news on upcoming updates. We also post this information on the Assassin's Creed Twitter page.

If you ever encounter any further issues with your Ubisoft Connect connection, then please check our Ubisoft Support website or Twitter page for any outages and if there isn't any I would suggest going through the connectivity troubleshooting.
