Recently I finally jumped into river raids only to find out it's completely unplayable, and why? Because of the numerous f'ing game crashes on PC. Here I am just about to attack my 3rd target, boom.. game closes itself down. I restart the game and I find myself back in Raventhorpe with my river raid progress wiped.
You'd say that's bad luck why not try again? Because if I got a euro for every single crash I got in AC Valhalla alone (not to mention the previous games) you'd be paying me to play the entire franchise for free. And yes, my PC meets the requirements (ryzen 5 2600, nvidia 3080) and no, all the dumb suggestions at the "Troubleshooting technical issues on PC" page don't work.
There's a topic on the forums about PC crashes asking to provide a bunch of files, but why would we bother? That topic has close to 80 pages of replies spread over an 11 month period and nothing gets fixed. Why? Several reasons:
- This problem has existed for several years throughout various AC games, nothing has been fixed, ever.
- You use Denuvo which negatively impacts game performance and stability. The internet is littered with sample cases of how [censored] the impact of Denuvo is on games
- There's no motivation to fix anything because your CEO hates PC gamers, believes 95% of them are pirates and will never take them seriously, here's a source to that statement.
So, since we're never ever going to get a fix to the many PC crashes, can we then at least have a bandaid? Please add an option where river raid progress gets saved and is picked up again if the game is restarted. Thank you.
