Hello there,

I'm Shakul57, a new game designer, who recently joined SBI.

One issue you brought up from time to time is the state of our ability tooltips. So I’m happy to announce, we are finally in the process of overhauling them. For this we try to have a more consistent and clear style. During this process we will also fill in the information that might be missing from some tooltips.

We created a first draft of examples for these overhauled tooltips and are now looking for feedback if you think the new versions are an improvement in terms of readability compared to the old descriptions.

Raging Storm - Bow of Badon


Old:

Shoots a Lightning Arrow, which creates a stormcloud on impact with an enemy. The cloud lasts for Xs and constantly hits
enemies within its Xm radius with lightning. This lightning interrupts enemy casting, and deals X magical damage, every Xs.
After leaving the area, the enemy will be hit by lightning an additional X times.

New:

Shoot a storm-infused arrow in the targeted direction, which explodes into a stormcloud upon impact with an enemy.
The cloud has a Xm radius and lasts Xs.
It hits enemies within the area with lightning, dealing X magic damage every Xs.
Enemies who leave the area will continue to take X magical damage for Xs. (This also happens after the cloud disappears.)
Each time the ability deals damage, it interrupts spell casting.

Ambush - Assassin Jacket

Old:

Turn invisible for Xs. Your first attack out of invisibility will have increased damage;
the longer you stay invisible, the higher the damage buff (maximum X%). Attacking
or casting breaks the invisibility. You will also become visible if you move too far away
from the activation spot.

New:

Prepare an ambush, turning yourself invisible for Xs.
Increases your damage by X% for each Xs you stay invisible (max X%).
The first attack or ability you cast reveals you and uses up the damage increase.
Moving more than Xm away from the cast location reveals you.


Charge - Claymore

Old:

Charge towards an enemy target, becoming immune to damage and any crowd control effect for Xs. You ram
the blade into the target, and unmounted targets will be stunned for Xs (ignoring crowd control resistance).

Consumes all your Heroic Charge stacks and converts them into physical damage.

Stacks: 0 / 1 / 2 / 3
Damage: X / X / X / X

New:

Charge towards the targeted enemy, becoming immune to all crowd control effects, debuffs, and damage for Xs.
Deals physical damage to the target based on the amount of Heroic Charges on you.
If target is unmounted, it will be stunned for Xs on impact (ignoring crowd control resistance).


Heroic Charges: 0 | 1 | 2 | 3
Damage: X | X | X | X


Consumes all your Heroic Charges.
