[2022] Anno 1800 DLCs needed?

So, I wanna try out Anno 1800 but I'm seeing a lot of DLCs for it. Apparently, the Complete Edition gets you every season excluding the content packs (?) and assuming the upcoming season 4 aswell? My question is, are these DLCs needed to play the game? What I mean by that is, do they add new features to the game that complement the base game experience. (EU4 has many DLCs that add new features and functions for example)

If yes, which ones are worth it to buy?

First of all, welcome to the Anno community! To avoid any confusion: No, the current Year 3 Complete Edition will not give you access to Season 4.

So you can either get Year 3 Complete and then the Season 4 Pass later, or you could wait for the probable Year 4 Complete Edition coming soon :)

As for the recommendations which DLCs to play first, I will leve that to your fellow players!
