The fairly small selection of island designs in the Old World has me feeling a bit disheartened at this point. They can have some small variety, such as a river here and there, but in essence it's just the same selection going around.
Has there been any word on more styles of islands? An Island Editor function or such?

Literally every island in the game is handcrafted by the Devs, not computer generated like in most games. This takes ages

That's one part, the other is that we're using external (i.e. not self-developed) tools for this process, too. So, we couldn't release an editor requiring licenses to programs we ourselves don't own.
