It is a frigid night, a thick fog blankets the city, ahead of you dim lights spill onto bustling streets. A sea of faceless umbrellas bobbing up and down, caught within a current of unending urgency. You feel a cutting breeze, drops of rain, and in the distance, you hear rumbling thunder. You quicken your pace.

You see an immense silhouette, jutting between rooftops – a flash and the goliath skyscraper is illuminated! Beautiful and foreboding. You crane your neck in awe. There is a moment of stillness then, with a resounding clap, the sky breaks open.

You run. Drenched you burst into the lobby where warm lighting greets you. You take a breath. A mellow tune drifts towards you from a gramophone in the corner, its soothing cadence interspersed only by the quiet dripping of your coat, then a soft ding catches your attention, you look up.

The elevator doors slide open. A bellboy smiles at you. He takes a gentle bow and asks, “What floor will it be?”

Immersion broken. Literally unplayable. Cancelling my preorder. 😤😤😤

Very good point, we were of course referring to the late 19th and early 20th century!

Immersion restored?

My god! That’s a highly complicated production chain just to make babies!

Truly, the world of anno is fascinating- what with requiring lacquer for generating infants!

Happy to provide more insights into the workings of the world of Anno 1800.

It's been some time since you created such a disagreeable NPC. I dislike him already and I love you for it. And you named him Donald...

I think Edvard was quite...unlikeable, to put it politely ;)

Here I shall request a mod to build Skyline Towers without limit. The ultimate skyscraper

If you go by the definition of "ultimate" being the best of most extreme example of something, then having a a city full of Skyline Towers would kinda defeat that purpose. Hard to stand out when everything is a Skyline Tower ;)

Each Shopping Arcade recipe makes the Skyline Tower more interesting to residents, adding another 100 to the maximum population.

The tower may be the biggest building in the game but i can't avoid to think that those investors will fell a little... compressed, after i build the 20th Shopping Arcade.

The number will be comical in Crown Falls.

after i build the 20th Shopping Arcade.

Just imagine them being Starbuck's, and you will have a pretty realistic approximation for a modern American city ;)

The Panorama Effect is a new mechanic exclusive to Skyscrapers. In short, your Skyscrapers will receive a buff if they are next to a skyscraper of a lower height.

So Panorama Effect won't give bonuses to Skyscrapers that are standing alone or nearby normal residences? Meaning, placing anything nearby Skycrapers that isn't Skycrapers will mean that place is "wasted". Depending on how much Skycrapers in nearby area we need to max out Panorama Effect, it could be really problematic for both beauty builders / record builders.

Following your feedback from “Tourist Season”, we’re adding several new items with “The High Life” which specifically affect the new building types introduced since “Tourist Season”, like Hotels, Restaurants, and the new Shopping Arcades.

10/10 that that was missing in Tourist Season. But I assume those items will be part of the game update, not part of High Life DLC? So we can use them without High Life DLC, if we own Tourist Season?

As a result of feedback from the playtests, the Skyline Tower – the new monument of “The High Life” – is a potential need for Tourists and can be connected with the bus network.

What will this impact? Happiness/income? Or population/income? It would be great if population/income, but I doubt that is gonna happen, as it could impact this DLC balance, but additional happiness and income is also nice.

Certain sets from the Zoo or the Museum now also influence Multifactories. For example, the Bronze Age Exhibition or the Icebound Exhibition.

Nice to see, although 5% production bonus is kinda not worth the influence input.

Finally, also based on community feedback, if you own “Seat of Power”, several of the Palace’s buffs are now affecting buildings from “The High Life” and “Tourist Season”, as long as they fulfill the conditions. For example, Orchards are not considered farms (just like Lumberjacks aren’t either) and the Artisan Workshop is – in contrast to the Assembly Line – not a “heavy industry”.

This is great news, +60% production is -50% workforce needed is huge boost worth dedicating islands to Orchards and Artisan Workshops. This will be fun!

10/10 that that was missing in Tourist Season. But I assume those items will be part of the game update, not part of High Life DLC? So we can use them without High Life DLC, if we own Tourist Season?

Let me double check tomorrow, but I believe that owners of "Tourist Season" who do not buy "The High Life" should indeed also get them.

Now, the real question is who would want to do such a thing...

I believe the panorama effect has a large enough radius that you can still dedicate some space to non skyscrapper stuff around and still reach level 5 panorama

I have yet to start a new game with Tourist DLC, so I must admit I’m a little bit lost with many of those infos.

What are multifactories? Can you build multiple items in the same building at the same time? Or one building can produce multiple hoods you have to choose from?

Recipes?

You can choose from a list of recipes or patents what the respective Multifactory is supposed to produce.

For example, the Artisan Workshop can be set to produce Cognac, Violins or Billiard Tables - each "recipe" requiring different input goods.

u/Ubi-Thorlof : seems that (based on the screenshot) the skyscrapers have the "yellow" night light effect on the windows, instead of the "white" light.

If I understand correctly how it works in the base game, the yellow light is used for residences that aren't connected to electricity, whereas it turns to white when it's powered up.

Are the skyscrapers working correctly in that regard?

Hey, in the final version the Skyscrapers correctly show a more white-ish light when supplied with electricity.

So, i suppose the assembly line is responsible for elevators, type writers and toys? But where biscuits are made...

Toys are produced in the Artisan Workshop - but the biscuits you mentioned are produced and packaged in the Assembly Line.
