I have just found some interesting hints that Anno 1800 should come on the console. That would probably be interesting for many people.
The following interface has already been implemented. The circle in the middle is intended for selection with the directional pad on a gamepad.
How can the interface be found?
Well, I noticed a key assignment (which can currently be seen as a bug) because it has no translation (for none of the languages).
I took a closer look at the whole thing. And lo and behold:
Up
TextSources.TextSourceRoots.Interface.ToggleQuickN avigationMap ()

This can be found in the assets.xml. "IsGamepadShortcut" is particularly interesting, which clearly speaks for a planned gamepad support.
Then I triggered the command manually (python dev console). And lo and behold - the interface (see above) appears.
Start
TextSources.TextSourceRoots.Interface.TogglePauseM enu ()
Menu; Session; WorldMap; Pause; Pause menu

Here's another example of gamepad mapping where the start button opens the pause menu.
I have at least no start button on my keyboard and "GamepadShortcut" speaks volumes.
Why am I now assuming a console release?
Because Ubisoft would hardly bother to install a gamepad support if it were only for the PC, since in my opinion no normal person takes a gamepad in Anno if it has a keyboard, which is why the case is clear to me.
PS: my brother is alive. stop fake news
