Currently Anno 1800 has relatively limited combat depth and in general it feels best to just spam ships of the line as they have high damage output for their cost and a relatively simple production line.

I thought a cool idea for a dlc would to be a combat themed dlc which added more navy options and strengthened late game options. Ideally it would come with a new region that is initially controlled by the bad guy of the dlc that the player would have to take by force. I think this could add a fun later game threat to the player that doesn't take islands from the player like AI or is just a nuisance like pirates.

Any thoughts? Would you enjoy something like this?

Heya, while we love your creativity and generally all the ideas for potential content you all come up with, we also learned that you seem to appreciate our transparency, so:

We're not planning to cover a period like WW1 in our game.

Additionally, this would very much implicate land warfare of sorts (understandable given the scenario), which we are also not planning to add to Anno 1800 (ruled out before release).

Warfare focused on ships and within the setting of the game is a different matter, even though from our experience and data we have, there's also a big part of our player base which is not interested in conflict.
