The tiniest crumb, you say? There is another big new gameplay system besides the already announced irrigation.

And we will likely detail Game Update 9 before we talk about Land of Lions.

That’s two crumbs right there!

You do not! Once it is out, you can just download Land of Lions. Thanks for supporting us, and buying the Season 2 Pass :)

May be too soon to ask... but will there be a season 3??

So, here is the thing with such questions, and the way corporate communications work. Ubisoft is a major, publicly-traded video game publisher, and while Anno is certainly a much smaller brand than some of our other titles like Assassin's Creed or Rainbow Six Siege, there are still a lot of stakeholders involved when it comes to announcing new content, to ensure that it is revealed simultaneously to all of our worldwide players on all five continents.

That also means that until something is officially announced, everyone’s hands at communicating are fairly tied. You will notice that I sometimes tease or hint at upcoming stuff here on reddit, but that usually only pertains to stuff that has already been announced or is to some degree known to the community. IN other words: If I knew that we would be announcing a Season 3 tomorrow, I would still today have to say that we haven’t announced any plans for new content beyond Season 2. So, while you are of course more than welcome to ask such questions, you should always keep in mind that there is only so much we can randomly reveal on reddit.

So, are there any pans for a Season 3 of Anno 1800? The answer is that we haven’t announced any such plans, which can either mean that there are no plans, or that we will announce them in the future and are not ready to do so yet. Or maybe even that no final decision has been made either way. For now, I would suggest focusing on Land of Lions and Game Update 9, which is certainly what we on the team are doing. In fact, there may be a lengthy DevBlog about GU9 on the way in the not too distant future 😊

That is an interesting change in how season 3 is mentioned. Earlier in the summer, you stated that it was currently not planned (but dependant on season 2 sales). Now it has changed to nothing has been announced yet. Reading tea leaves, this could mean that a season 3 is at least being seriously considered/evaluated.

Reading tea leaves is always fun and I love to do so myself for other games I am looking forward to, but keep in mind that unless we say there is a Season 3 coming, the default expectation should be that development of Anno 1800 will end in 2020.

Understood. Thank you for keeping us updated through reddit as well. I would assume that if there is going to be a season 3, it would be announced around the time lol gets released as was the case for season 2 and the passage. Either way, I look forward to the GU 9 and lol news that will be coming soon.

I have it on good authority that someone got bored and wrote 1400 words of DevBlog about all the quality-of-life improvements coming with game Update 9. And that you may read it in 24 hours or less :)
