The issue is very much plaguing the game still on August 16th 2021 (soon one full year after launch). At least on Xbox Series X I just witnessed frustrating situation where my progress of few hours (3-4 missions and one new operative) was lost due to game resuming an old save.
I would imagine that fixing this save game issue should be the top priority of the dev team rather than introducing any new content at this point. The pressure is on.
PS I was witnessing the very similar infamous ubi save game issue also with Assassin's Creed Valhalla. I faced the issue about 3 times during the play through. I am willing to bet that this has something to do with the cloud save feature. There absolutely should be a local backup of the save game file to avoid this type of situation!
