This is how you make a screenshot

A screenshot is a picture displaying everything being displayed on your screen the moment you take the picture. The screenshot helps the support and developers better understand the situation at hand. It does not replace a clear description and is to be seen more as an addition.
On your keyboard you will find a key with the imprint print screen, Drucken or PrtScr. Depending on the keyboard there can be differences in the layout. Usually this key is located in the first row beside the F12 key or close to it. In order to take a screenshot you have to press this key exactly one time. At first it may appear as if nothing had happened. Actually that is not the case and in the background a picture was taken of your current screen.
You can check this by opening Paint via Start -> All programs -> Paint where you simply need to insert your picture. You can do this with the key combination of CTRL + V or by pasting it in via the edit function.

Now it is very important that you save your screenshot. In the upper left corner go to save as and choose a JPEG file format as it is most useful in this case. The place you wish to save it is up to you.
Should you want to publish a screenshot in the forum then you have to make sure that any usernames of other players are not recognizable. This you can do for example with the pen in Paint.
Should you wish to upload a picture now then you can do this via attachment. Please dont forget that there is a size limit which cannot be exceeded. For larger pictures we suggest you utilize a picture host for example Google or ImageShack.

Here you can find the links to videos demonstrating how to make screenshots:

You can also take screenshots with the Screenshot-Captor tool

Here a Guide for Screenshot-Captor

1. On the following website for example you can download the program Screenshot-Captor:
http://www.donationcoder.com/Softwar...eenshotcaptor/
This will be usually be a *.exe file and will not need to be unzipped. Just run the .exe and it will install. If at the end of the installation a question bar or toolbar is option to be installed please remove the checkmark.

2. Open the program and minimize it into the taskbar

Icon in blue = No picture in the memory
Icon in red = picture in the memory
(Once you have used the print key the icon in your taskbar will change from blue to red and once it has been saved it returns to blue)

3. Open website of which you want to make a screenshot
4. Press the print key (usually in the upper right of your keyboard)

Now a new window will appear containing the screenshot and you are given a large number of options:

1. Discard
2. Print
3. Save as
4. Store in cache
5. Open the picture editor (opens the picture editor of Screenshot-Captor)
6. Into the editor and hidden
7. Thumbnail image picture editing
8. File name into the memory
9. Options
10. Send picture as mail
5. Upload the saved picture and integrate it on the forum. You can upload pictures at websites such as ImageShack or Google.

You can also use the Windows integrated snipping tool

What is a snipping tool?
The snipping tool is a program which is preinstalled on all Windows Vista systems. It is special as you can make not a screenshot of the whole screen but of a selected area. This is especially useful if you wish to protect your private data.

Where can I find it?
The snipping tool is easily found via the internal windows search function. Go to the Start button and enter snipping tool. You will be provided with the program in the list. It is recommended to make a shortcut for the tool on the desktop.

How to take pictures with it:
1. Open the website where you wish to take the picture.
2. Open the snipping tool.
3. The screen should be overlayed in white and now the mouse simply needs to mark the .designated area and then just let the mouse go.
4. After a short wait your picture will appear in a new window.
5. You want to mark something in the picture? This is also very simple with the snipping tool. Simply select the text marker or pen in the upper bar and then mark accordingly
6. File -> save as -> choose save directory.

As the uploading of pictures it not possible on the forum itself you will need to make use of a external provider. There you upload your pictures and receive a link leading to it. This you can integrate in such a way on the forum that, instead of a link being displayed, your picture is shown.
First you will need a so called image host such as ImageShack or Google. Choose one which supports your picture size and saves the pictures hopefully without any limitations.

Uploading pictures with an external service

Generally the uploading of pictures has a very similar process with most providers:
Once you have decided which provider to use go onto their homepage. Most providers have clear instructions on how to upload and which other options are open to you.
First you choose which pictures you wish to upload.
Then you begin the upload by clicking on a button which is usually named upload pictures.
Most image hosts will refresh the page after a successful upload, displaying all your uploaded pictures. With each picture you can usually find several functioning links. The link you will need is usually called the direct link, the link to the picture or the picture address. This label is different with most of the hosts.
Always identical is, that the direct link will always end with the file type of the picture. The most typical supported formats are *jpg, *jpeg, *png, *gif.
This link you then copy for example by using the key combination CTRL + C.

Inserting pictures into the forum

To insert a picture here in the forum you click on the picture symbol on the input screen:

The following window will open in which you can enter the link:

Now you press on OK and the following text will appear:

Here the part Address to your picture link should be replaced by the link you placed.
Now you can place further text before and behind the picture and can insert more pictures. These will be automatically embedded into your post.

Hopefully this helped and we wish you a lot of fun uploading pictures and placing them into the forum
