Hi there,

for a long time I have been playing the Anno Series now. It has been so much fun up until now. It is a priceless feeling to play these games. But for some reason, I developed suspicions yesterday about Anno having 7 games (8 games if you count Anno Online in).

As we all know, the magic number for the whole Anno Series is the 9! My scary thought was: What if they make 9 games of the series and then quit? I know it is a strange thought but I'd really like someone to denounce my suspicions.

I know that the Anno Series is quality content at its finest but sadly doesn't make the money, it should make in my opinion. In these times of extreme competition between Game Publishers and the time needed to develop such a beautiful game like Anno 1800, I found it not to be unlikely for them to stop at 9 Games of the Series.

Can someone enlighten me on the current status? I'd really like to hear that this will not be true. It gives me anxiety...

Please clarify, thank you!!

Anno 1800 is indeed the fastest selling game of the whole franchise, so nobody should be worried about the success of the 7th Anno game and the near future. Developer rarely just "cancel" a whole series and I think there is a bright future ahead for the series. About the 9, let's say this Easter Egg of a rule would never be a reason to stop something, we even said that if we want to make an Anno game where the "rule of 9" would not fit into the title, we would drop the rule. At the end, traditions are great and part of the success of the series but our highest priority will always be making a good Anno game above all else. That does not mean that we are not willing to try out new things or even depart from the series at least for a while but currently, a majority of the studio is working on Anno and I don't see that change too much in the near future.
