Was totally locked out of any movement controls and I couldn't move my crosshair, all I could do was shoot. Then eventually it "snaps" back into my control. This is happening fairly frequently.

Enemies also keep phasing in and out at very odd times. Feels like I'm playing world of warcraft with their sharding system:

Quest objectives to kill enemies also end very strangely. It seems like after you kill X amount of enemies, they all just phase away and the story moves on. It's hard to tell exactly when a fight is going to end because they often just disappear before you're even close to killing them all.

The movement around Fort Tarsis is still painfully slow, sad to see they didn't change that from the alpha. It desperately needs a sprint button or a movement increase in pilot form.

Outside of those, it still just doesn't feel as good as I'd expect for how close we are to launch. They've said this is an earlier build, but they said the same about the Alpha and I honestly don't feel like the difference in the Alpha Build vs Demo build is massive. It just feels unpolished.

Hey everybody, I just wanted to pop in during the thick of it and say sorry to those who haven’t been able to get in yet. We know many of you pre-ordered, took off work, or made plans with friends to play today and that time is valuable to you. We’re doing what we can, and our priority right now is to get everybody in.

Our Live team has been digging into it all day and will continue to do so. We’ve made progress but we know there are still issues and we’re still looking into them. I don’t have much more info, but felt it important to check in. Thanks for your patience so far.

More than likely that’s me coming across as having no idea, which is partially true. The team working into this is far better at this than I am, I just didn’t want to leave y’all high and dry when I said I wouldn’t. Double check the login and force close the application and restart. Not sure outside of that if there is anything you can do. But I know many others are having this problem too. We’re looking on our side.

sometimes it crashes on the loading too, without showing the message. If it doesn't crash, it gets to a point where it just stops on "Connecting to Online Services"

Thank you for the detailed info Ivnna, looks like the team just updated on this specific error internally. So yes they are aware. Seriously thanks again.

Was it just the one time? It’s supposed to reward you previous mission XP and loot on the completion of your next one if you have problems. Let me know if this happens multiple times in a row.

As far as your issue since it's more widespread we should be able to look into it that way. Some users reported to me that they had luck by deleting the locally saved storage files for Anthem Demo.

Any lost XP or loot at the end of Freeplay or any expedition should be awarded at the end of your next mission. However there were some issues with folks getting "rolled" back in progress. This was being looked into at the time. Thanks for the report Icarus

Edit: A friend told me that some people have had luck after deleting their local save game and reloading. Going to try that.

Edit 2: That worked! Unlocked my second javelin after deleting my save game data and finishing a freeplay session.

Last thing ill mention just to be a bit more specific. In all the testing ive done, the game runs between 20 and 25 frames on the xbox one x. Cannot speak for the og xbox one. Bigger fights cause it to drop more. However it almost never reaches its target 30 fps.

As far as pop-in, it doesn't seem to get any better or worse depending on the situation. It just acts as i described before 100 percent of the time.

Some consistent themes I've seen while looking for potential solutions and seeing so many reports of this bug:

  • frequently seems after hitting level 12, and getting one of the load screens that hangs at ~95% completion, that this occurs (happened like this for me)

  • one or two mentions of completing the three story quests allowing the second javelin to be unlocked, this did not work for me personally (nor completing the stronghold once)

I am not aware of any demo extensions, but Chad Robertson did announce that anybody participating this weekend will get a unique vinyl to try and help compensate for this (http://blog.bioware.com/2019/01/26/anthem-vip-demo-update/). I know it's not going to make up for lost time, but we're doing what we can. Sorry for the troubles.

I have one huge request. When players are in Freeplay with you, there needs to be a clear icon showing you where they are in the world on your hud/view. I shouldn't have to keep looking at the map, it's really annoying. The icon is there when you are a bit close but get further away and it's gone.

Also once a world event is completed any item you're carrying for that event should automatically be dropped or removed. If players leave mid world event, any item or echoes they have should be dropped automatically. Quest soft locks if they leave with echoes.

Oh at one point I lost my hud, only think I had was the ultimate bar on the bottom right. The HUD never came back.

Overall from what I played the game is FUN! If these issues get fixed I can see myself playing for months! The flying was perfect, the guns were a bit underwhelming and boring. They all felt the same. Guns need different sounds and feel. It didn't feel like you were shooting with bad ass guns. It was like pea shooting. Bullet trace needs to be a bit bigger/brighter. Will there be any energy based weapons? Hope most if not all of these issues are fixed 🤞Good luck and thanks!

Hey V0r, I know this is late but you may want to try deleting your locally saved game data and reloading. Let me know if this has been working for you.

For the lost XP and loot in Freeplay, that should be automatically added to you the next time you complete another expedition.

For Freeplay you may have seen in the last Dev stream that we did add a party UI as well as a compass to better gauge where your team is.

The soft-lock for events is a really good point, I'll pass that along.

We're always talking/thinking about new weapons :).
