I linked my steam account to my xbox ea account and no longer have my skins.

If you unlink your platform account ( in this case, Steam) from your EA account, you may lose all your game progress on that profile. There is a warning that you must accept when making similar changes, and we also have this risk explained here on our website.    

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that this progress can be restored. However, you can contact our  support team to see if they can assist you with reconnecting your original account. 

Steam is a separate platform, so it will not impact your Xbox progress, but since I cannot see your account history to make sure what happened exactly, I can only recommend contacting our support team for a more in-depth investigation. Also, please make sure to log out and sign back in on your Xbox to check if you are logging in with the same EA account.
