Can I ask, is your friend resident in Russia by any chance? If so, this link may have important info for them:https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/ea-games-unavailable-in-some-countries-or-regions/

 

If your friend does not live in a country in those regions then there were recent changes made to how card purchases are processed and it may be a case that this is related to it.


I know that almost any purchase I make I now have to verify it with my bank through their app and if the authorisation does not appear then an order will show as accepted but will be canceled shortly after. 

 

Alongside speaking with our support, I would recommend that your friend speak with their bank or card issuer to ensure that there is not an error or issue on that ened.

It may be easiest if your friend speaks with our live support team @Wof1o.

 

They will be able to advise your friend further as if living in China, using a Russian email and paying in English pounds you could see issues.
