Mirage currently becomes cloaked while reviving or respawning teammates. It's not technically invisibility, as you can still see faint lights coming from his shoulders/upper arms. He also emits a low humming sound while cloaked. So while it can come in handy in certain situations, it's fairly balanced and can be countered. Mirage remains a weak legend overall.
I thought it might be a good idea to grant him this same passive cloaking while looting a deathbox. This would add another neat trick to his arsenal - he'd be the best shield swapper in the game.
It wouldn't be broken, as he'd still have the humming sound and faint lights to give him away (just like he currently does for revives and respawns). But it would totally fit his character to give him this extra passive. He's all about deception, outsmarting his opponents via sleight of hand and disappearing acts. It's a very Mirage thing to pull mid-fight:
"Oh no, you broke my armour! Wait, huh? Where'd I go?... Boom, here I am! Fooled ya, didn't I?"
I just think it would be a lot of fun, and give Mirage one more trick up his sleeve. It's admittedly pretty niche, but so is his currently cloaking for revives and respawns. Seems very in line with the kinds of buffs he's had in the past, and consistent lore-wise (he's able to cloak while performing several stationary actions).
Plus, in a game that has become increasingly plagued by third-party after third-party, I think it would give him some genuine utility. Any change that helps counter this 3rd party meta is a welcome one in my mind, lol.
In any case, thanks for reading, and please let me know what you think!
