I've seen a lot of discussion around ranked gameplay, the RP system and the like. From the moment ranked was announced out I knew I was going to grind to whatever the maximum point would be. Well, here we are but more importantly I want to share some insight with those who also want to fulfill this (headache inducing but endorphin fueling) journey.

» Once you get into Plat/Diamond it is almost essential to have a pre-made squad. Not everyone needs to be the most skilled on the team but everyone must be on the same page about team shooting, rotating, and call outs. Try LFG websites or discords to find players with similar goals (playing with people in the same division incentivizes everyone to be as serious because everyone pays the same RP entry fee)

»The jumpmaster sets the tone of the game. While the jumpmaster goes to the safest location (meaning nobody is landing with your team) the other two need to be freelooking to see where other teams are landing.

»Don't underestimate syringes and shield cells, players in Diamond will consistently break 25+ shield at a time during rotations and almost every team has a longbow. You will need to heal in small increments.

»Referring back to the last tip, someone on your team should probably run some sort of long range weapon(s). This can really help getting picks late game as well as keeping enemies off an area your team is holding down.

»Give some thought before engaging in fight. Even when you have the opportunity for an easy squad wipe, there may be another squad ready to third party. Placement is a lot more important than kills, and there are plenty of opportunities to get picks end game.

»If you have a pathfinder, always utilize beacons. I cannot stress that enough, the beacons will make rotations so much more efficient and you can kind of predicate where end game circles will be.

»Wattson is monumental end game. Being able to utilize Pathfinder to get high ground and Wattson to set up fences (and use her ultimate) will decide who ends up on top some games.

»Remember there is a ton of time in the season to progress through ranks. If you're getting too irritated or just not having fun anymore take a break. You won't always do well, and I had plenty of games where my team died pre top 10 and it's just part of the game. Stuff happens and move on.

»Finally, I'm more than happy to answer anybodies question. Good luck everyone.

Your concept of bad isnt relevant.

The only way we will know if plat is average or not, (or way above average) is numbers that Respawn will need to provide us.

Doing math in these scenarios is usually filled with horrible assumptions.

What numbers do you need? The RP system works exactly as shown in game, and you’re matched based on it.
