[2019] Info About the New 'Flyers'

There are a lot of posts about the new flyers around the map. Especially when you sort by new. So I wanted to make this so, in case you are confused or surprised about this whole thing, you won't have to be. (Also, side note: I am not claiming to be the one who found flyers. Millions of posts believe they are the first people to find flyers. You are not.)

So let's begin.

• Flyers are known as an alien species in the Titanfall lore. A lot of people call them 'dragons'. They are basically a winged, flying creature. Not much to them.
• In Apex Legends, a small amount spawn separated around King's Canyon, carrying blue, purple, or (allegedly) golden death boxes. Personally, I have only seen blue and purple.
• The loot is most likely randomized.
• Flyers make a 'screeching' sound at random times, allowing you to hunt them down like you would run towards gunfire.
• They fly around in (what looks like) a circular pattern.
• You may shoot the flyers. Or you don't have to. I mean, they're kinda cute.
• If you shoot the flyers, they begin to 'rise' as an attempt to flee. If shot enough, they will drop the death box they are carrying. I'm not sure if you can 'kill' them. I have only seen them fly off.
• Flyers will NOT attack you, either before or after you shot them. However, shooting them gives away your location. So, while they might not attack you, other players will. Is giving up your location worth it for the loot?
• The death boxes will have the nametag and banner from anyone on your friend's list on it. If you don't have any friends, it will just have the name and banner of a random legend. (i.e. Octane)
• You can grapple the Flyers, but you can not physically jump on them. However, it is speculated that, later on, you can 'ride' one by landing on them while skydiving from either a balloon or from the drop ship itself. I'm not sure if this will happen, though.
• This teaser seems to be like the teaser for Octane (the jump pads. oh god). It could be possible that Respawn adds another alien species to King's Canyon before Season 2. For instance, the Prowler, a hostile creature who will most likely wander around and attack players if you get too close. Though, this is just speculation.

That's about it, really. There's nothing that exciting. I mean, now you can go Flyer hunting whenever you want, right? (Spoiler: don't. They seem to be fairly rare. I specifically looked for them for an entire game, but could not find any. Not sure if they were killed before I got there or it's just chance or what. I have seen one on my first game of the day at the town on the opposite side of the Northern mountain Hydro Dam is against. I have also found two at one time at the buildings West of Runoff, near the cliff.

I know this is a bit hypocritical, but please stop posting about the Flyers. It's been done before, and it's getting very repetitive and annoying, and it hasn't even been a day since they were added. The only reason I created this post is, unlike most posts where it's 'WOW omg flyers are in the game havnt seen anyone talk about this yet they have loot boxes', I wanted to be informal about the whole thing, so you can go into a game without freaking out.

Also, one more thing: Don't expect flyers to stay this way. They could possibly turn hostile once/before Season 2 drops, seeing as everyone is killing them.

Tl;dr - Flyers, also known as 'dragons', are flying alien creatures from the Titanfall lore who carry death boxes with random loot that have the nametags and banners of your friends on it. The boxes are dropped once the flyer is shot enough. The flyer will not attack, they will just flee once shot.
