I ain't buying cosmetics until Intrepid shows me that they can fix the netcode / animations / effects and make combat look and feel good because currently I don't feel like they have.
You can hire artists to make models all day but the game is what I want.
We'll be showing those changes with each new Dev Update and that is perfectly fine! Only support what you think is right.

I for one would love to see a pipeline video of animations and how you intend to have your characters really feel impactful (physically/literally speaking) in the world.

Really appreciate them appealing to a wide range of styles with each month. Too many games stick to the classic tough medieval look and don't embrace unique fantasy enough.

Nope. These are exclusive to the month.
You're helping us build the world though, so you may see variants of these creatures, outfits, and buildings in the world as NPCs and NPC structures, but no one else will be able to attain them.
That said, we'll have plenty of other awesome and cool things for folks to get through adventuring in the world of Verra! <3

I will never understand their artists' compulsion to put insect wings on random mammals. I get it's fantasy but just use normal wings that actually look like they have a chance at lifting the animal up.
Don't get caught up in the real-life elements. Have a little imagination and come away with us into a fantastical land where there are all sorts of creatures. ;)

Will we be able to and match pieces of costumes or is it one "costume" that covers all armor?
Costumes cover everything. You do not get them as separate pieces.
The accessory items that are separate can be pieced together with other items though. <3
