For me personally (and I'm not sure why) when I think of grinding, my immediate thought goes to harvesting for crafting. Going out and 'grinding' for herbs, pelts, ore, etc.

I'm not sure if I can think of another MMO that I felt did this aspect of grinding resources perfectly... I feel each that I've played has done well and not well with this.

For me, I think open-world PvP will create an element to grinding resources that makes it more engaging :)

While we have decided not to talk about our security measures publicly for security reasons, I can assure you that we will have robust systems and plans in place to combat bots, hackers, and other security concerns :)

Nothing beats finding good treasure or a hidden path where you least expect it (or perhaps in this case, where you expect it most 🤔😊

In addition to secret waterfall passages, what else do you hope to find and where would you hope to find it in Verra? ^_^

Yeah, in Everquest 2 I used Monk. Loved Monk. It would be nice for both versions especially while combat revamp is underway (no pressure IS lol).



I'm generally a monk player in MMOs that offer it, as well!

Seeing martial arts in Ashes of Creation would certainly be cool! However, I can assure you that nothing in that image, between my exposed armpits or Margaret's fistful of fingers, has any hints or confirmations for Ashes of Creation 😅

I like where your head is at with this idea! We know immersion is important to our players but I wonder how this would work! I'm no game designer, but I wonder if this would go too far in the direction of anti-"game-y" gameplay 🤔

It's so cool to think about persistence and making long-lasting impacts on the world of Verra. It's something I look forward to when placing my freehold :) I wonder what other unique and immersive gameplay ideas you can think of!

This is SO true! I didn't even think of this! Funny enough, combat is actually one of my least favorite things about playing D&D haha! I think that's such a good observation.

I agree with the general sentiment that combat is a major, if not THE defining factor of a good MMORPG. That's why our team is working so hard on it after receiving quite a bit of feedback after Alpha One!

What about combat do you think makes or breaks it in an MMORPG (or even any RPG!)?

Neat idea and good conversation happening here :) Certainly an idea worth thinking about! I do like Dygz suggestion of that feature being tied into max-level adventurer game loops as well.

Either way, I can't wait to see what the design team has planned and what they're going to show us! I think the event system will be an awesome, organic, and fun way to make Verra feel everchanging and real!

I think once all the races are complete and customizable in the character creator, people may find themselves more intrigued about the ones that are planned to be in AoC at release!

If you were to add other races to Verra, what would you add?
