[2023] Is it just a me that's worried about the toxicity found in their official discord?

I'm concerned and a tad speechless to have experienced what I did being there for just one week. I'm someone who believes that a community makes a mmorpg, and so does their leaders. I've been following Ashes of Creation for a long time now, and finally decided to get actively involved by purchasing one of their packs and joining discord. I had such an optimistic view of the team until I started getting involved.

In the short amount of time I was there I've seen people spam drunk, I've seen talks of drugs and NSFW content, I saw a new user get insulted out in the open for asking a silly question (they were told to eat a dirty *ss -toned it down-, other members got offended and a moderator just walked on it saying "what did I just walk into lol", but did absolutely nothing about it), I'm seeing incredibly toxic behavior day in and day out and moderators are part of the problem. They either ignore it, or participate in it. There is little respect to the rules they set for their community, and no one's actually moderating those things, at least not the situations I witnessed and it was a lot in just one week. This has made me skeptical of AoC's team intentions. What's going on there, was it always like this? I just left the server, and now I wonder if I care to play at all if that's the values the team carries.

Edit: These are legitimate concerns I have, it is in no way shape or form to defame or talk down AoC's team. I've supported this game with both my time and money, my intention isn't to sh*tpost. If I'm taking the time here, it's because I care.
