Have you guys thought about adding npc ships that travel from one port to another that players can raid like a player ship. Maybe add some escort ships that need to be boarded and kill the captain that is an elite npc. maybe even be able to salvage the wreckage for some basic materials.

Here is what Steven has said regarding this in the past: "NPC ships will be present on the ocean that are adversaries or monsters that will be targets for players to try to raid or hunt for treasure" - https://ashesofcreation.wiki/Ships
