navigation menu
-tiny toggles for controls of the ship
-requires clicking on the toggle rather than the words
command menu
-all icons basically look the same. only categories roughly by color
-the time spent in the wrong category is more time your sub spends sinking
- if you are colorblind then you will have an even worse time.
-cannot quickly make singleplayer decisions for the crew to follow as a result.

in short whilst it looks better than ever this is a classic case of why you don't fix what isn't broken
the game is reliant on quick decision making whereas the new updates to the menus prioritize aesthetics, sacrificing quick maneuvers and submarine management, for a pretty menu people aren't really interested in basically shooting itself in the foot.

form over function actively hinders the concepts that define the game.
still, this ain't meant to just be talking smack, I dig the game and that it is seeing persistent development.

Hi everyone! We're quietly collecting feedback about all the new UIs just now (and may hit you with some more direct questions a little later, let's see), and for now it looks like it's the command interface that gets the most criticism. We welcome all feedback, but because we made so many big changes for the Silky Smooth update, we're going to hold off on making any big statements about what we read for a little while – we want to see if people get used to the changes before reacting. For this conversation though, I thought I should share some player-written tips that got posted on Steam yesterday: https://steamcommunity.com/app/602960/discussions/0/1751276319488155455/

Do you find these helpful? What other sort of information do you think might help?
