Hi everyone! I would like to clear up some things about the Trello roadmap: first off, something being in the hopes and dreams section does not by any means say that that thing will happen; it's more of a nod that the thought has crossed our minds and if it seems feasible, we may consider it. The long-term plans list is the end of actual plans – and the list is not exhaustive, or set in stone. It's only what we can say with some certainty right now.
Secondly, just like the Trello roadmap doesn't include a card like "fix the top 500 most annoying bugs", it also doesn't say "make the bot AI good enough that SP no longer drives new players crazy in less than half an hour". However, that doesn't mean it isn't one of our overarching goals to improve the singleplayer experience further – on the contrary, that is an important part of our development plans, but rather than there being big, easily identifiable milestones there, it's (for the time being, anyway!) work that we do with every update. For instance, the latest big update's changelog had a number of entries solely about the AI, if you want to go back and check ;)
So, to answer the question: yes, they will. How much they will eventually be capable of and how soon they will get to that point are questions I can't answer properly right now, but they will definitely continue to be developed, like every other part of the game.
