...But now they're unresponsive and inaccurate when using mouse and keyboard. Since the update both menus reset the "mouse-over detection" half a second after being opened, making rapid selections impossible. You have to be slow and patient every time you want to use them, which is the opposite of ideal considering they prevent you from looking around and returning fire for as long as they're open.
Here is an example of me dying to this, partly because of my stubborness, I'll admit it. I really wanted to call a JB-2 on my position and clear the flag before the round was over. :(

This goes on top of submenus being finicky to navigate with a mouse ever since launch, as you have to precisely keep the cursor over their items otherwise they close. BF1's submenu system is much more robust and allows you to select commands with a quick flick of wrist, no matter how far from the center of the screen your cursor ends up being.
Also there is an issue introduced with BF1 where sometimes the Commo Rose stops responding to mouse-over until you click. In BF1 this was somewhat rare (let's say once every other round at worst), but in BFV it's extremely common (about once every other spawn).
Here is a brief video I recorded the day the patch came out featuring all 3 of these issues, happening just minutes apart: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETBdbX1Ycs0
If you often play as squad leader on PC and have Context-Based Order Giving
disabled, all these issues combined make the experience rather frustrating, to the point where you feel a bit of relief when you're not squad leader as you know you won't have to deal with these issues as often.
If I'm doing something wrong, please let me know.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
