Personally i wouldn't mind it if they just made the unique soldier sets and a handful of epic sets behind a paywall.
In all honesty i don't really mind it that much since there isn't a premium pass
In addition to Battlefield Currency, Epic cosmetics are made available through multiple progression layers: Chapter Rewards, Weekly Storylines, Class Max Rank for each Class, Weapon Max Rank for each Weapon.
But will there be other ways of getting the current epic sets? This just doesn't seem fair.
You can get them via Starter or Premium bundles, various progression options, or Battlefield Currency. Just not Company Coin.
What progression options can unlock the current epic sets in the armory such as the Jackal or Diving Rod?
I don’t think they’ve been rolled out. Haven’t had a moment to really dive into the game and look at all the goodness this morning. But we have a lot of Tides of War to go.

But it is blatantly misleading at best, and false advertisement at worst.
Okay. I can understand why you feel that way, but let me explain it (which I am sorry it wasn't that clear).
Under the grand umbrella of ALL customization (the box at the bottom right), there are two currencies that will work for that. Company Coin and Battlefield Currency. Nowhere have we explicitly stated that "All Customization will be Unlocked via Company Coin". In fact, we've previously mentioned that Premium customization/cosmetics will be acquired with real world currency.
However, one thing the FAQ we released yesterday didn't share, and I am sorry for that - I'm working to see if we can get that updated - is: In addition to Battlefield Currency, Epic cosmetics are made available through multiple progression layers: Chapter Rewards, Weekly Storylines, Class Max Rank for each Class, Weapon Max Rank for each Weapon. You can't purchase Epics with Company Coin, but you can unlock them via progression. Elites are 100% Battlefield Currency only.
