Secure the LS/26 Support class LMG in a new Weekly Challenge by playing Squad Conquest.

This week's Tides of War Chapter 3 Storyline focuses on the return of Squad Conquest, our 8v8 variation of Conquest. The Tides of War Storyline nodes will matchmake you into any Squad Conquest map, except where specifically noted*. For more info on Squad Conquest, check out ourSquad Conquest Returns to Battlefield V blog.

Complete this Week's Storyline and you'll be rewarded with the Lahti-Saloranta M26, a Support Class LMG. Battlefield V brings the standard LS/26 with the 20 round capacity magazine.

"The Lahti-Saloranta M26 was a Finnish firearm used during World War II with optional ammo storage - a regular magazine or a drum. Nicknamed “Assorted Mistakes”, it was a relatively heavy LMG, hard to clean due to its 188 parts, and low ammo capacity. However, in the hands of a proficient gunner, it was exceptionally accurate." Source

The LS/26 LMG for Support Class

Let’s look at the tasks. Remember that the exact mission requirements can be found in game in the Tides of War menu.

Lockdown - 4,500 Chapter XP

Capture 2 Objectives.

*(OPTIONAL) Valkyrie - 10,000 Chapter XP

Down, Kill or Driver Assist 1 enemy while seated in a Kolibri synchropter in Firestorm.

Fighting for a Cause - 10,000 Chapter XP

Earn 1500 score in one round.

Pulling Your Weight - 10,000 Chapter XP

Get 10 squad assists or kills while attacking objectives.

Naked Force - 10,000 Chapter XP

Deal 2000 damage using Assault Rifles or Semi-Auto Rifles.

Tank Repairman - 10,000 Chapter XP

Repair your teammates vehicles for 150 health.

One for All - 10,000 Chapter XP

Revive squadmates or be revived by squadmates 20 times.

Lead Farmer - 10,000 Chapter XP

Kill, down, or suppression assist 20 enemies.

Toe the Line - 10,000 Chapter XP

Complete 5 squad orders.

Zero-Sum Game - 25,000 Chapter XP

Kill or down enemies or revive teammates 40 times.

(OPTIONAL) New Noisy Toy - 10,000 Chapter XP

Suppress or kill 30 enemies with the LS/26.

I'd recommend trying it with Squads or Duos. Your buddy pilot, you attack with your weapon while on board.

ToW Weekly Storylines start on Thursdays. This is a preemptive announcement - as we’ve done since ToW started in December. However, instead of it being on ea.com/battlefield, I’m putting it on Reddit and the forums.

Checked with one of the producers. At this time, no, but that doesn't mean it may not come up in the future. I've definitely shared the feedback we've received from the community regarding customization of tanker/pilot.
If I get any updates, I'll make sure to share it as soon as possible.

Though it is a crime against good taste, the Lahti in the game in fact does NOT have its 85-round pan magazine (Its not a drum magazine).

Might want to amend that statement in order to not be misleading

That part is just a historical fact about the weapon. EDIT: I've added a source of the info.

We have the static image and the mini-video to show what the weapon looks like in-game.

I do appreciate your keen eye and have added a bit of context on how the weapon is in-game. Thanks!

On a side note, I noticed yesterday that none of the ToW nodes mentioned gamemode-specific challenges. Is it too good to be true?

No offense good sir, but it doesn't say that. It says that the ToW screen will matchmake you into that gamemode. That's not the same thing as saying the challenges only apply there. Subtle but important difference.

I updated the first line to mention that "This week's Tides of War Chapter 3 Storyline focuses on the return of Squad Conquest, our 8v8 variation of Conquest, to complete this week's objectives. " Does that make it clearer?

So where is it? Why isn't that an option.

That statement was just a bit of history about the weapon itself, with a link to the source of info.

In the paragraph above that, it states that the weapon in BFV has a 20 round magazine.
